My name is Roy Coutts. At present, I have been with IPeople nearly 9 years and have the role of Product Owner for our Data Access products. My goal is to maximize the value of our products so that they are a delight to use.
Since the age of 19, I have worked within the healthcare and/or information technology sectors. I worked in the hospital setting for 15+ years in a variety of roles: monitor technician, nurse, MEDITECH super user. I have had the privilege to work with a ton of great people to bring MEDITECH Nursing, Emergency Department Module, eMAR/Bedside Medication Verification, and Quality Management/Risk Management into 15 hospitals.
In a nutshell, I strive to bring my past experience and blend it with IPeople’s culture to provide Data Access solutions to your healthcare data under one roof.
Working for an Agile company requires us to be fast and adaptive in creating and leading change for our customers. We want to “delight” the customer. My role as Product Owner requires me to have constant feedback from stakeholders, the market, and sometimes… even my wife.
Blogging allows me to open up another avenue of communication to create instant feedback loops that can assist in the Agile process to help guide the vision of our products and services to best fit the needs of the healthcare community. Your input to blogs gives you an opportunity to have your voice heard. Products are more meaningful and useful when we have your input… so please feel free to respond to any blog you find here.
Blogging may be on any topic in healthcare or technology. It may include discussion of an IPeople product or service that solves a need of an organization or it may be a technology topic that is unrelated to any IPeople product or service. My goal would to let the healthcare community drive the content of my blogs. Without your valuable input, you may be at my mercy on the content of the blog where I might cover exciting information about the ‘Pitch Drop’ experiment or other boring information.
The most important item regarding blogging is not the content of the blog. You, your experience, your viewpoints, and your voice are the most important items in these blogs.
I welcome anyone who would like to contact me to do so. I want to provide you a friendly, informal, and informative venue where your voice and opinion matters.
I would like to get things started by asking a few questions about your organization’s healthcare challenges!
- What challenges do you face with accessing all of your healthcare data?
- What challenges do you face with populating your healthcare data?
- What challenges do you face with process automation?
- Regarding your challenges, if I could give you a piece of ‘magical duct tape’, where would you stick it
I am here to help you. Let’s work together to create a better tomorrow in healthcare. Please feel free to contact me:
